LARGE!! - JESS DAVILA STONE BUFFALO SCULPTURE CARVED FROM MARBLE W/ TRAVETINE BASE ARTIST SIGNED - "J. DAVILA, '13" 12" LONG X 10" TALL SIMILAR WORK - $6,950.00 https://www.jessdavila.com/store/spirit-thunder "Jess Davila is a celebrated, self-taught master stone sculptor known for transforming raw natural stones into fluid, expressive works of art. Working with a wide range of mediums—including marble, onyx, alabaster, limestone, and basalt—Davila creates pieces that bridge the gap between contemporary abstract forms and realistic depictions of wildlife and marine life." "Davila's approach is deeply intuitive. He often allows the organic shape, color, and texture of the raw stone to dictate the final sculpture. As the artist describes his process, “What really enhances those pieces is the stone because each one gives you something completely different.” -- [The Foothills Focus]. His portfolio ranges drastically in scale, from intricate, palm-sized miniatures to monumental, multi-ton outdoor installations. A signature element of his work is its highly polished, smooth texture, which explicitly invites viewers to engage with the art through touch."
